- December 8 D3 1) Chee Kung Tong Vancouver. A preliminary election for new executives would be held on Dec. 16-all members welcome. 2) Dart Coon Club Van. A final election for new executives would take place on December 9th. 3) Canton School Vancouver, was going to raise funds for itself. It had been established for 4 years by some enthusiastic merchants. There were quite a number of students, however the school had no foundation money and thus the capitals of the school were primarily derived from student fees and donations. The school board had now decided to have a fund drive. Represent- atives would be sent out soon to rJ3.se funds for the school. P3 4) Visitors: banker , director of the Hong Kong Oriental Mercantile Bank ( ) and his co-worker stopped by Vancouver. The aim of their trip was to take over the Canton Bank in San Francisco and to improve the banking system. They would also go to New York, Cuba and Peru. 5) 3 Chinese, , and were put to prison for violating the drug law. They would also be deported. However, they had appealed for trial at Supreme Court. 6) Ghee Tak Tong Vancouver. , & had gone to Cumberland to recruit shareholders for the realty of the assoc. They were warmly welcomed by the Chinese there. Speeches were made and they were able to recruit a number of shares.
