- December 5 P3 1) CBA Vancouver. An announcement that a general meeting would be held on Dec. 5 tonight to discuss about plans forprotesting against the prohibition of the Chinese from employing female Indian and white workers. All Chinese k were invited to come and advise. P3 2) A report of Consul General Lira's talk after his meeting with the premiee and the HP's on Dec. 3. The premier told Lim that the proposal about prohibiting the Chinese from employing female Indian and white was brought up because it was found that many women were found to be addicted to narcotics and the Chinese could very well be blamed for this. A counter-attack was made by Lim who asserted that not all drug sellers were Chinese and that protection should be not only given to the female Indian and white workers, but to the black and yellow, as well. Thus a revision of the proposal should be made. The premier had asked the Chinese Embassy to give suggestions regarding the revision. P3 3) CBA Victoria and Vancouver. , and a lawyer sent to talk to about the unsatisfactory terms of her proposal about prohibiting the Chinese from employing female Indian and white workers. She was quite hesitant-in answering the questions and had agreed to discuss the issue with the government inspector. 4) A Chinese restaurant owner was fined $25 for employing a white woman to work 70 hours a week. According to the regulation, one could work 48 hours a week at the maximum. 5) A Chinese was sentenced to 2 years in jail for setting fire to the ouse of a white. 6) Chee Kung long (Lethbridge). had gone to Calgary, , Saskatoon and Winnipeg to raise funds and recruit shreholders for the realty of the association. He was greatly welcomed by Chee Kung Tong and Dart Coon Club in those places. A considerable amount of money was collected.
