November 30 Pi 1) An article in memory of the late Dr. Wong Fung Wah who was killed in a car accident. P3 2) B.C. Premier and head of the provincial legislative council wrote to ack- nowledge Consul General Lira of receiving his letter of protest against the prohibition of the Chinese from employing white and Indian girls. They asserted that consideration of Lim's appeal would be made. 3) Dart Coon Club Vancouver. An announcement was made that a preliminary election for the new executives would be held December 2nd. 4) Members of Yun Ping ( ) and Kai Ping ( ) welcomed their district member from China who came to Vancouver to recruit shareholders for a railway back in their home country. A meeeing would be held on Dec. 2 in Tung Fook Tong to discuss it. Reps, for rec- ruiting shareholders would be elected. 5) News from Victoria (Education Dept.) It was calculated that there were 2784 E. Asians students in the public schools in B.C. of whom 1346 weee Chinese. P3 6) Chee Kung long Vancouver. A funeral ceremony would be held for its executive member on December 5th. Pll 7) A comment on the protest against the prohibition of the Chinese from employing white and Indian girls. Besides the efforts of Consul general and CBA, action should be taken to stir up the sentiment and sympathy of legislative council members. Money was needed for this and thus funds raising should be called for. (It was a pity that in a meeting held by CBA in Vancouver to discuss the proposal, only 7 people were present. The Chinese should be more enthusiastic if they wanted to have the proposal abolished.
