- Description
- November 9 P3 1) News from Toronto - the association for protecting the Chinese employment rights. About $2000 was left behind from the fund that was previously raised for protest against the law that prohibited the employment of white girls in Chinese restaurants in Ontario. The representatives had decided to put aside this sum of money for later use since the protest had not yet come to an end. However, a few members from the H.Q. for protest against the restrictive immigration law suggested that such amounts of money should be switched to their association for use. This suggestion was re- jected by many people who asserted that the H.Q. had already received more than $1,300(0?) and thus it should be Mnancially secure. If it was really in need of money, the overseas Chinese would certainly be willing to raise funds provided that a clear report on the credit and debit of the assoc- iation was produced. 2) Names of donors from Vernon and Fernie to Chee Kung Tong of San Francisco & Victoria.
