November 6 Pi 1) An article on the building of a Hung Mun temple in Shanghai. P3 2) A continued report of the case of 3) The Canadian government attempted to limit the chance of the Chinese from becoming citizens by demanding all applicants to produce a registration cert- ificate which included a picture of the applicant, date and port of arrival. In addition, all Chinese immigrants had to fill in certain booklets while they P3 3) were in Canada before the registration certificates could be issued. The minister in charge asserted that all these were attempts to reduce the number of Chinese from becoming citizens. 4) 2 Chinese were arrested in a smoking den. 5) Chee Rung Tongof Lethbridge denounced those who made rumours that the assoc- iation had been sued for some reason and was thereby fined $300. 6) (The Realty Co. Limited of Chee Tak Tong), announced on November 5 that , & were appointed delegates to recruit shareholders. They would start off in B.C. It was hoped that the people could be cooperative and generous in buying shares.
