October 24 P3 1) Two announcements were made by the CBA of Victoria, (a) a telegram would be sent to the External Affairs Department in Peking in order that ambassador Lim could be checked from going to Ottawa as the chief ambassador. Since Ambassador Chau had emphasized that the purpose of his trip back to China was to make a final effort for protesting against the restrictive immigration law and whether or not he would come back to Canada would depend on the Canadian government's reaction towards the demand of revising the law, thus the Chinese government's policy of letting ambassador Lim replace ambassador Chau was a contradiction to what Chau had said; (b) The new Chinese Public Hospital in Victoria had planned to hire an experienced nurse from China to take care of the patients. In addition, 6 executives of CBA would be responsible for inspecting or supervising the affairs of the hospital. According to the constitution of the hospital, all patients were not charged for their treatments, except 50c for their daily meals. 2) A report on the banquet held by 3rd general convention of Chee Kung Tong in San Francisco. 3) The 3rd general convetion of Chee Kung Tong had postponed its closing date because more discussions had to be made. (The intended closing date was October 18.) 4) Names of new executives for for 1924. 5) Names of new executives for Chee Kung Tong in Toronto for 1924. 6) thanked the centres for raising funds for Heung Shan Benevolent Hospital in Victoria and Vancouver for giving her welcome and cooperation. 7) (Victoria) announced that an anniversary celebration would be held on November 11.
