October 11 P2 1) There was great celebration by the Chinese associations on Double Ten Day. P3 2) 3 whites and more than 20 prominent Chinese attended the celebration party held by Ambassador Lim on Double Ten Day. P3 3) 3 Chinese tourists were caught for using other people's passports. They were to be deported back to China. 4) Chee Kung Tong, and the Chinese Times of Vancouverhad sent a toast to the H.Q. of Chee Kung Tong in San Francisco, hoping that the 3rd general convention would be a success. 5) About $450 was donated by the Chinese shingle workess to Heung Shan Benevolent Hospital. 6) Wong Kong Har Tong of Vancouver celebrated the first anniversary of the setting up of the association's building on Double Ten Day. Speeches were made re the association and the National Day by (representative from the branch in Cictoria) and (representative from the Branch in Cumberland) and a number of other members. 7) Chee Kung Tong of Lethbridge announced that the construction of the assoc's building would begin soon. It was hoped that the members of Chee Kung Tong would be generous in donations or buying shares of the association. 8) Chee Kung Tong in Victoria announced that celebration for the birthday of ancestor should be held by all branches on October 17. 9) The centre for raising funds for Heung Shan Benevolent Assoc. in Vancouver thanked the Chinese shingle workers for the donation.
