- September 15 Pi 1) An article in support of (the external affairs minister in China) who had proposed the idea of asking Ambassador Chau to go back to China for a detailed discusson onthe restrictive immigration law. P3 2) A Chinese merchant Siu, who came to Canada in 1921 and had been doing a vegetable business with a friend was detained by the immigration office upon his application for a visa to the U.S. for a visit. This was believed to be a consequence of the new immigration law. More details would be givenlater. 3) The assoc. for protest against the restrictive immigration law in Victoria announced that there was still a chance of revising the new immigration law since ambassador Chau had been sent back to China to discuss it with the government. In addition, he would try to arouse the sympathy and support from the fellow Chinese in China. He further urged the people not to get too excited with the term that demanded registration of all immigrakxHH Since the time limit for registration was a year, they could possibly restrain from registering for a certain time and could see in the meantime if there would be change in the regulation. P3 4) and went to Fernie and to recruit shareholders and raise funds for Chee Kung long in Lethbridge. 5) Names of donors to Chee Kung long in Victoria.
