July 31 Pi 1) An article on the development of Chee Kung Tong. There was a proposal of setting up a branch assoc. in Lethbridge. & had been working very hard on its establishment. There was also a report on how went about recruiting shareholders for the realty of Chee Kung Tong. (The building of Chee Kung Tong in Vancouver had been mort- gaged for funds which was sent to support the revolution in China. There was thus the plan of buying back the building.) P2 2) ( of the H.Q. of Chee Kung Tong in San Francisco) was awarded a medal by the Peking government for his devotion to China. He was also chosen as the advisor for the Agricultural and Commercial De- partment in Peking. P3 3) A Chinese was arrested for smuggling illegal products into Canada. 4) An announcement was made by members of CBA on July 30, demanding president to pay $1000 which he had drawn out on May 10 without the consent of the executives. ( was asked to repay the money by June 10, however he tended to disregard what he was told.) The members at large warned that if he still disregarded the question, his post in the association would be nullified. 5) announded that all shares had to be paid by 3 installments. The first portion (30%) was to paid by August 1; the second 30% by September 1, and the last (40%) was to be paid by October 15th. 6) Ko Wing Kan announced that he could provide efficient service for those who wanted to apply for supplementary tax receipts.
