- July 23 P3 1) The mayor of Vancouver requested the CBA to inform the Chinese community to tidy up Chinatown to welcome the U.S. president, coming to Van. on July 26. The CBA requested the people to do as they were told and to raise the flags of China, Britain and the U.S. on that day. 2) In the meeting held by the members of , it was decided that the members in Victoria should also be informed about the plan of setting up a school In . A meeting would be held next Sunday to discuss the plan. 3) Another reprt of the case of 4) After the initial election, & were chosen as representatives for setting up the Heung Shan Benevolent Hospital in China. A final election would be held soon. 5) The fund drive for the Peking Library came to an end. About $2000 were collected from Vancouver and Victoria. Pll 6) It was reported that the association for protest against che restrictive immigration law (Vancouver) planned to appeal to the U.S. president about the immigration law during his visit in Vancouver. A comment was made against this, namely the U.S. as a third person, could not intervenfe.
