July 20 P3 1) A report of the murder of a Canadian by . It was reported that the murder was connected with either drug problems or smuggling of ammunition into China. 2) The Canadian Fruit Produce Assoc. attempted to stop the Independent Fruit Produce Co. (Chinese owned) from competing with them by requesting the fruit growers not to sell products to that company. The Chinese had hired a lawyer to fight for their rights and had finally won the case. P3 3) Chee Kung Tong of Victoria held a party on July 19 to welcome the chairman of Tai Tung newspaper in San Francisco.
