Description
July 9 P3 1) (MP for B.C.) told the people that the Can. Government tried very hard to restrict E. Asian immigration and that all MP's from B.C. shared the same point of view of excluding the E. Asians. Eventhough the present Chinese immigration law had not yet attained complete exclusion, the E. Asians had to be subject to very harsh terms so that their invasion into B.C. would be checked. 2) A continuation of the letter of the representative committee to the H.Q. for protest against the restrictive immigration law. It was concerned with the committee's proposal of organizing a demonstration by all overseas Chinese. The committee hoped the people could cooperate by obtaining a permit for a demonstration from the police first before taking action. 3) Chee Kung Tong (Vancouver) announced that had completed his task in recruiting shareholders for the realty of the assoc. and that he had resulmed his post as secretary. From now on, all money or documents could be sent to president and secretary . The association also thanked the branches in Toronto and Winnipeg in setting up the Freemason Realty associations to raise funds for them.
