- June 26 Pi 1) Wong Kong Har long - Realty Department announced that an election for new executives would be held on July 22. All shareholders would have the right to vote and be nominated. However, due to the tremendous numbers of share- holders over Canada, the executives had to be chosen from the residents in Vancouver. It was hoped that all names of candidates could be sent to the headquarter by July 1. P3 2) A merchant from Hong Kong ( ) stopped by Vancouver and he was welcomed by his clan association: 3) Seeing that the public schools were overcrowded with students and that the Chinese students were still pouring in, the Women's Association and the Association for Excluding the Asians were quite concerned with what the future immigration law was about. Investigation had been made and it was found that a number of Chinese students were now detained in the immigration office and they would soon be released if the law that permitted students from coming into Canada was enforced. The 2 associations had thus decided to appeal to Ottawa, requesting the government to forbid the Chinese students from coming to study in Canada. 4) had set up the Independent Fruit and Produce Company in Vancouver in order to ensure convenience among the Chinese. 5) Chee Kung Tong celebrated the birthday of on June 26. 6) & had gone to.
