June 25 P3 1) & had gone to Toronto. Speeches regarding Chee Kung Tong and Tai Tung newspaper were made. 2) A continuation by the H.Q. for protest on what they had been doing. The aims of the association were reported. a. To revise the unbearable terms even though the entire restrictive im- migration law could not be abolished. b. To make it possible that all Chinese who were presently staying in Canada could be exempt from the new restrictive immigration law. c. To increase the quota for Chinese immigrants;even though the Chinese workers were not welcome, Chinese merchants, students, newspaper editors, preachers, tourists, technicians and their wives and children shouldbe allowed to come to Canada. d. All Chinese immigrants who had violated the immigration law and had to be deported by the immigration officer had the right to appeal to the court. e. All legal Chinese immigrants did not have to register. f. All legal Chinese immigrants should enjoy the same priority as immigrants of other countries. The Headquatter emphasized that the associations for protest were organized for the welfare of the Overseas Chinese community, and that any queries, opinions and suggestions were welcome. It was hoped that every Chinese would help either by contributing ideas or money.
