June 21 P3 1) President & of the Business Assoc. in Canton wrote to on June 22 telling him that Japan refused to return when the lease was over. It was hoped that the overseas Chinese associations would cooperate to protest against the Japanese ambition. P3 2) News from Ottawa: Ambassador Chau had been trying very hard to appeal to about the restrictive immigration law. He had also talked to an immigration officer on June 12, saying that if the Canadian government did not abolish germs number 26 and 27, China might withdraw the embassy from Canada as a form of protest.
