June 21 P3 1) President & of the Business Assoc. in Canton wrote to on June 22 telling him that Japan refused to return when the lease was over. It was hoped that the overseas Chinese associations would cooperate to protest against the Japanese ambition. P3 2) News from Ottawa: Ambassador Chau had been trying very hard to appeal to about the restrictive immigration law. He had also talked to an immigration officer on June 12, saying that if the Canadian government did not abolish germs number 26 and 27, China might withdraw the embassy from Canada as a form of protest. By then, trade between China and Canada would surely be badly affected..That immigration officer was quite impressed and said that the Chinese would not be chased out of Canada. 3) A trunk of ammunition was found in the house of a Chinese. 4) Chee Kung Tong ofVancouver announced that a meetig would be held on June 23 to recruit new members and that on June 25, there would be a remembrance celebration for 5) The H.Q. for protest (Toronto) gave a report on their protest against the restrictive immigration law because a few Chinese were suspicious of what they hd been doing.
