May 17 P3 1) The representative committee for protest against the restrictive immigration law telegramed to of Vancouver that they agreed to the suggestion of ignoring the law if their appeal was disrgarded by the Canadian government. An extraordinary executive meting would be held next week and the representatives would be present. It was hoped that more money could be sent to Ottawa for use in the protest. 2) of Vancouver had telegramed Dr. Sun Yet Sen, the external affairs department of Peking and in Shanghai on May 16 about the restrictive immigration law, hoping to gain sympathy and support. 3) The representaive committee for protest against the restrictive immigration law in Ottawa had been working very hard in persuading the members in the House of Lords to revise the restrictive immigration law. A few representat- ives were usually present at the discussion meeting held by the House of Lords. Proposals were presented to the House for inspection, but they were usually ignored because of length and complications. However, it was reported that & (members of parliament) agredd to advocate the revision of restrictive immigration law. An extraordinary meeting would soon be held to discuss it.
