April 30 P2 1) The Association for Protest Against the New Immigration Law (of Vancouver) had organized a speech day on April 29. About 2000 people attended the Speech Day. Speeches were mde by the president , , (head of propaganda committee), , etc. P3 2) Chun Wah Commerce Association had held a meeting for all Chinese shops on April 29. The owners were warned not to work in the after hours because of the complaint of the Retail Businessmen's Association. Moreover a few shops were sued for this. 3) 2 Chinese had committee drug offenses. 4) & were recruiting shareholders in and Kamloops. They were welcomed by & there. 5) The Association for Protest Against the New Immigration Law (of Calgary) held an executive meeting on April 24 and had decided to raise funds for the protest. All executives took the lead by donation $5 each. They had also planned to call the newspaper company in Shanghai so that the people there would know about thfe injustice and give support.
