- March 10 P3 1) A number of visiting merchants were planning to estabalish a company for export and import and for money exchange in Vancouver. The headquarters would be in Vancouver, and branches would be in Hong Kong, and . was chosen as thepresident of the company and representatives had been sent out to recruit shareholders. P3. 2) The immigration office of Vancouver complained that most Chinese drug criminals were usually exempt from deportation upon the appeal of the lawyer. If no absolute punishment was enforced, the drug question would surely persist. The reply from Ottawa was that deportation of foreign drug criminals should be absolute and in cases of consistent appeal by the lawyer in defence of the criminal, the final decision should rest on the Supreme Court of Canada.
