Description
March 6 P3 1) The Public Health Service reported that Chinatown had been very non- hygienic due to overcrowding. It was found that up to 22 persons were staying in a room in Chinatown. Inspectors had been sent out to check all houses in Chinatown. P3 2) A few items of the new immigration law: (a) All Chinese immigrants had to register in the immigration office within 12 months after the release of the new regulation; (b) All Chinese immigrants had to land in Vancouver & Victoria and they were not supposed to move to other places; (c) Those returning to Canada aftet studying elsewhere were given free entry; (d) those returning to Canada after visiting their home country were given free entry.
