- February 23 P3 1) News from Ottawa. The new immigration laws were to be released next week. Some of the contents were that there were to be 3 types of immigrants: a) those holding diplomatic visas; (b) those holding student visas; (c) those holding merchant visas. In addition, before coming to Canada, they had to register first and had to give their finger prints. Upon detecting any forgery, the persons involved would be deported. P.3 2) The Oinese-Canadian Club ( _^ had been working very hard to help the relatives of the leprous overseas Chinese. The club had sent , & to (the island for keeping the lepers), on Feb. 21 to investigate the conditions of the patients and to see how relief funds could be sent to the relatives. It was reported that there were 7 Chinese patients on the island.
