- Description
- February 21 P3 1) News from Kamloops. Before the business license was issued, Lumber Co. had to agree on not hiring Asian workers. However, it was later found out that Asian workers had been hired. B.C. Inspector sued the com- pany for violating the contract. The case was even brought to the court in England. The company argued that it had Co intention of discriminating against the Asians. The final decision was that since the company had violated the contract, the B.C. inspector had the right to intervene and the company could not appeal against this decision. P.3 2) News from Cumberland. A number of miners went on strike. They requested the employer not to hire Asian miners, however their request was rejected.
