Description
January 30th, 1923, Tuesday P.3 News from Victoria: Ambassador Chau talked of the school segregation question. He said that he had already reported the case to the Chinese government. The people there were greatly aroused by such unjust treatment imposed upon the overseas Chinese. They asserted that they would surely boycott Canadian goods if no action was taken to check the school segregation policy. Ambassador Chau assured the overseas Chinese that he would talk with the Canadian government at Ottawa and if his protest was disregarded, he would let the Chinese government intervene.
