January 29, Monday P.3 1. It was found out that the Chinese lumber workers from 21 lumber companies had agreed to donate their one day's salary to The Chinese farmers were also very enthusiastic in raising money for the hospital. About $1,900 were raised by them. 2. Ambassador Chau (at Ottawa) came back to Canada after his visit to China. He was welcomed by Ambassador Lim (Vancouver), representatives of C.B.A., and representatives of other associations. A banquet was held for him during which requested his help in checking the school segregation policy. Ambassador Chau was also asked about the coming commercial agreement and the immigration law that was to be set up between Canada and China. He replied that the terms of the agreement would surely be designed for the benefit of the overseas Chinese.
