- January 3, 1923 (Wednesday) P.3 1. (Chan Tak Shing Book Reading Store) held its opening ceremony on December 25, 1922. 2. In the opening ceremony of the Chinese-Canadian Club on December 31st, President talked of how the Overseas Chinese were being discriminated against. It was thus necessary to unite all Chinese, especially the native born ones together so as to fight against unjust treatment. The club was established primarily for protesting against injustice and protecting the rights of the Chinese. 3. Names of the executives of Chan Tak Shing Book Reading Store in 1923: President: Vice: Honorary President.
