- Description
- November 6, 1922 (Monday) P. 3 (1) The Chinese Anti-School Segregation Association of Vancouver held a discussion on the policy of school segregation in Victoria, on November 5. The representatives attacked the various reasons that the School Administration Department held for segregating schools. 1. Most of the Chinese students were over 15 and they were much older than their white classmates. 2. Owing to insufficient schools, special schools should be set up for the Chinese. 3. The Chinese were intellectually inferior to the whites. They decided to continue the struggle against the policy of segregation. Otherwise, the tide of discrimination of Chinese students in school would lead to the prevalence of discrimination against the Chinese community at large.
