They hoped that the Chinese students in Victoria would persist in their struggle against injustice and they would surely provide moral support for their action. (2) Jiff trl School of Vancouver had also sent a letter to the Chinese Students' Association in Victoria to show their moral support for their portest against school segregation. (3) A Chinese drug criminal, after 3 months of imprisonment was to be deported according to the new regulation. His lawyer, however, argued that since his client had been living in Canada for 12 years, the new regulation should not apply to him. The judge however stressed that such harsh punishment was essential in order to avoid further offences.
