Description
October 18, 1922 (Wednesday) P.3 (1) News from Victoria: It was reported that certain Chinese villian had been attempting to ruin the effort made by the Anti-School Segregation Association in reverting the policy of school segregation. The School Administration Department was about to abolish or revise the segregation policy. However, a Chinese villain who pretended to be the leader of the Chinese Community, talked to the person in charge, saying that the segregation policy was very appropriate and that the Chinese students' refusal to go to school was mainly due to the idea of a number of revolutionary members. He encouraged the department to remain harsh on the Chinese and assured it that the Chinese would soon give in. P.3 (2) The School Administration Department held a meeting on the 16th of October and decided that the special schools should be reopened till Friday and if the Chinese still persisted on not going to school by then, the schools would be closed till the end of the year, p.3 (3) ;.;% "^ i who was responsible for donating funds for ~i{- , \Tf^j -s^_, ^ ,j_, '^ '"or-.
