October 11, 1922 (Wednesday) P.3 (1) An opening ceremony for the new building of Wong Kong Har Tong was held on October 10. The national flag was raised and celebration was made. P.3 (2) The case of j^ ^1~ ^ (who, after discovering that he tried to flee to the U.S. was to be deported by the immigration officer)(Refer to October 5). His father appealed to the court, pleading the judge to let his son stay in Canada to study. The Immigration Department asked for additional $500 head tax in order that he could stay. P. 3 (3) News from Victoria: In response to the persistence of the Chinese students for not going to school, the School Administration Department announced on October 9 that the special schools for those who did not know English were to be closed down. It was reported that so far 5 Chinese Students had been attending schools. Many Chinese Associations had sent letters of protest to the School Administration Department.
