- September 23, 1922 (Saturday) P. 3 (1) The Sports Association of Vancouver was in favor of the idea of excluding the Asians. Speakers were sent out to different places to advocate the Anti-Asian spirits. M.P. ~^. *i,A -t_j V\J was invited to give a talk about the Asian question in the Sports Association in Ottawa. At the same time, the Vice President of the Association in Vancouver was going to make speeches in in Toronto and the branch associations in Regina, Winnipeg, Hamilton, London, and Kingston. P. 3 (2) Ambassador Chau had already sent in to the Canadian government the proposals about cancelling the head tax and revising the law for admitting Chinese immigrants, e.g. should the students and merchants be given freedom of entry into Canada? The issues were to be discussed in the parliament meeting. Ambassador Chau also planned to go to China to discuss the issues with the Chinese government. P.3 (3) iTcx and 7^__ ^ attended the opening ceremony of %-; ' *- - "" \ in Sault Ste. Marie on September 16. A considerable amount of money was raised then. P.3 (4) News from Victoria: The school at }^\_ "^ \ Street was opened on September 20, primarily for the Chinese and those who did not know English. However, the Chinese persisted in not going to school.
