Description
September 19, 1922 (Tuesday) P.3 (1) Ambassador Chau sent a letter to the Chinese Labor Union on September 8, saying that he would consider its proposals with regard to the future immigration law. (2) The Vancouver Sun published an article written by the Dean of the McGill University on "New Education". He stressed that there should be no distinction in education and pointed out how education could be used as a means to benefit the world instead of the individual. The editor of the sun then attacked the School Administration Department for harming the students if the policy of segregation was enforced. (3) The Anti-School Segregation Association had been very active in defending the rights of the Chinese. The Chinese students were told not to attend classes, and at the same time, the association requested Ambassador Chau to take action and also newspaper campaigning was used in Mainland China to gain support.
