- August 16, 1922 (Wednesday) " y? /\^~\ p. 3 (1) ~~tpTx z~ lAC~N went to Kelowna to raise funds for establishing 4-1- /} rv-ACt.^-t^ v^ iv v.x'r^ic., (2) News from Victoria. The Education Department planned to build a school for Chinese students in ~\r ^vl\ ^.,^0 '""'jf Street, however the residents in the vicinity protested against this. They requested the city council to stop this because they believed that if a school for the Chinese was established there, the land value would surely decrease. Besides, that area would soon become another Chinatown because many Chinese would move in. By then, the Canadians would be forced to move out.
