July 27. 1922 (Thursday) P.3 (1) Owing to the frequent stealing of vegetables from the Chinese hawkers. The Chinese Vegetable Hawkers' Association sent a letter to Ambassador Lim so that action could be taken to maintain order. The association stressed that all howkers had to pay $60 annual license fee, thus they were also entitled to protection by the police. P.3 (2) An announcement was made by the C.B.A. of Vancouver on July 26 to request other Chinese associations to send one or two representatives to the C.B.A. to discuss the commercial agreement and the immigration law between China and Canada.
