July 3. 1922 (Monday) P.3 (1) The C.B.A. of Vancouver held a general meeting on July 1 to discuss the commercial agreement and the immigration law that were to be set up by the Chinese and the Canadian governments. The members realized the significance of such laws. As a result, a special committee to investigate the laws and to collect opinions and suggestions was set up. The C.B.A. of Victoria was also requested to give opinion. The final decision made by the C.B.A. was to be sent to the Chinese External Affairs Minister in Canada. (The C.B.A. of Vancouver had sent a letter to the headquarter in Victoria on June 22nd to ask them to send representatives to a general meeting held in Vancouver for discussing the commerical agreement and the immigration law. However, seeing the headquarter gave no response, the C.B.A. of Vancouver sent another letter to ask for their opinion on July 2. The C.B.A. of Vancouver had also sent a letter to the Overseas Chinese External Relations Association on June 29 to ask its members to attend the general meeting which was to be held on July 1 to discuss the laws). P.3 (2) Urgent announcement by -H^ C'v^x \~- ^ Vu^-^^' vcv in victoria on June 30: All membership fees should be collected by December 4 after which extra fees had to be collected. In addition, according to the constitution passed in the second general convention in San Francisco, the time limit for the annual donation was 6 months. The time limit was now over and it was hoped that all branch associations would send the donation funds to the headquarter. It should be noted that those who did not pay the foundation money, or membership fee or annual donation would be exempt from the priority of the association.
