- November 28 P.3 1) Consul General Yeung in Ottawa - Ottawa news: the Consul in Vancouver received a message from Ottawa stating that Consul General Yeung, who was to go to Panama, had died on Nov. 19. The funeral had been held on Nov. 24. 2) CKT Van. - announced that the preliminary election would be Dec. 1, and Dec. 15 would be final election. 3) Chinese Vegetable sellers Cttee : due to the influx of rotten fruit (tangerines), the committee decided to stop buying and selling it. 4) Ah Chew Co. ( Jewellry co.) defended low prices. 5) Discrimination v.s. E. Asian students Victoria: the School board reported - Elementary students - Japanese 501, Chinese 490; Ed. fee per person $69.10; 2nd school students - Japanese 21; Chinese 33; Ed. fee for all of them $6410.86. P. 3 5) The total Educational fee spent on them was $64,410.18. Thus the residents requested the government to make an amendment to impose Educational taxes on the E. Asians because they did not pay land tax. 6) Chinese Taxi and Express - 1 Fender Street: expansion and improvement.
