- October 19 P.I 1) Consul General Yip's speech at the Retail Merchant Assoc. meeting. P.3 2) Visitor: was in Vancouver trying to set up a silk co. He was employed by the Jung Hing Co. in San Francisco. 3) Van. Sun - more articles on Anti-Asian issues. 4) CKT - celebrated the day on Oct. 8th. 5) News from Victoria - special treatment for the Chinese returning to China. When Chinese were returning to China, CPR usually bought the tickets for them. Once they gave out too many economic tickets; the agent requested the shipping co. give 1st class accommodation for the economic ticket holders. On Oct. 15, the same thing happened and the ship co. was generous enough to give 1st class accommodations for the Chinese who were holding economic tickets. 6) CKT - name list of donors.
