- October .11 P.I 1) An article about Double Ten Day. P.3 2) CKT Van. - celebrated Day on Oct. 9. 3) Retail Merchants Association held a meeting on Oct. 10 and the Japanese Consul protested against the Anti-Japanese sentiment. 4) An article on Van. Sun which discouraged dealing with Chinese vegetable merchants. 5) Edmonton news - a Chinese restauranteur was charged a few times for selling evil drugs. The last time he was only allowed to be bailed out at $25,000. 6) More drug offenders were fined or put into prison. 7) There were quite a few Chinese trying to smuggle into B.C. from Washington.. It was found that most smugglers were quite familiar with the B.C. map, and it was assumed that they had contacts in Washington.
