September 29 P.3 1) Poo.n Yn members ( ) had a security Bureau ( ) in Van. and the members decided to build a $20,000 school in the native village. A member already was sent to Poon Yn to prepare for the establishment. 2) In the next election, 150 Japanese were granted franchises because they had servd in the Air Force or the Army during the War. 3) Anti-Asian Association ( ) was against granting franchises to Japanese. The club has 18,000 membership. 4) CKT Toronto - held a 5-ancestor celebration on September 3. 5) Hoysun, Lim Clan members - Calgary - the received a letter from Hoysun 49th district which was preparing to establish a Lim clan school. The constitution was read and money ($2000) was raised. 6) Discrimination v.s. Chinese - , , news: a Chinese laundromat in land was closed down due to owing tax . The owner thus wanted to buy the house, however, he was refused by the City Council which held the view of not selling land or property to Chinese. 7) Chinese Christian Church Vancouver - 3 fund raising agents were sent to Victoria to raise funds for the Church.
