September 14 P.3 1) Discrimination v-s. E. Asians - Richmond - and in favour of checking E. Asians from buying land. 2) Winnipeg news: there was a demand for workers to cut wheat in Saskatchewan; however it was discovered that many unemployed preferred to wander around to taking the job which paid 35<?/hour. They demanded 60c/hour. 3) 11 Chinese opium smokers were arrested. The owner of the den was fined $200 while the others $25. 4) Nanaimo news: the school board held a discussion about inefficient school faculties. Some suggested to exclude those students whose parents did not hold property, or those foreign students. However, the school board disagreed with the se suggest ions. 5) Kai-ping member Lee Fat Leung was sent back to China to help the establishment of the Kai-ping Dai Kong ( ) Chung Tung ( ) School. He thanked the Kai-ping members for giving him farewell parties.
