August 17 P. 2 1) Business and Labour Association as well as the Veteran Assoc. had held a joint meeting to exclude all E. Asians in B.C. A 2nd meeting was held by the Business and Labour Assoc. whereby many organizations sent reps. They demanded exclusion of E. Asians. P.3 2) news: a meeting was held by the Local Improvement Assoc ( ) whereby they wanted to force the farmers to fire their E. Asian workers and stop dealing with E. Asians. Their aim was to chase out E. Asians from the city. 3) CPS Victoria - had started class on July 14; and there were over 100 students registered. 2 new teachers would be arriving to teach. 4) Discrimination against Chinese eggs - agricultural Dept. Victoria - intended to raise the import tax from 3c per dozen to 12c per dozen.
