Description
June 25 P.2 1) CKT San Francisco - amendments e.g. there would be a uniform badge for all members. P.3 2) CBA Van. - was asked previously to investigate about extra room and board fee/ deposit imposed on the new comers. CBA already asked a lawyer to investigate the issue and it was reported that the immigration dept. had authority to ask for this fee from those who were detained at the dept. The ship companies were responsible to ask from the passengers for deposit and then pay the amount ^to the department ($.125 per day per individual) when necessary. 3) News from Victoria: the mayor would hold a public meating on June 23 to protest against the anglo-Japanese treaty which would endanger the rights of the Can- adian government to control E. Asian immigration. A similar protest had already been held in Vancouver.
