June 22 1) Immigration problem - it was reported earlier that Mrs. Chiu, a new bride of a Vancouver Chinese, was refused to enter Canada because the immigration dept. thought that the marriage certificate nas not valid in Canada. During the appeal, a Chinese minister was asked to prove that the couple was legally married, and eventually Mrs. Chiu was admitted. 2)A Chinese evil drug seller was put to prison for 1 year, in addition to $1000 fine. 3)4 Chinese and 2 whitemen were arrested in an opium den. The Chinese were con- victed. 4)The famine relief Assoc. Victoria - received a receipt from the which praised the association for generous donations. 5) CKT H.Q. announced that the general convention to be held at Honolulu would be postponed.
