- May 18 P.I 1) CKT H.Q. - an article commenting on the school establishment. P.2 2) The Chinese government had sent 6 railway engineers to Van. to learn about railway construction. A plan had been made with CPR so that a 2-year course would be given to them in Montreal Head Office. P.2 3) Columnist newspaper suggested that the Canadian and Chinese governments should cooperate to sweep out the illegal drug market. 4) The Veteran Association would hold a general meeting on June 3 and 4. They would talk about theproblem of houses and E. Asians. All Veterans Associations and Farmers Associations were invited. 5) 2 Chinese were charged with drug offences. One was to be put in prison for 1 year, and the other given $500 fine. 6) Columnist newspaper attacked Van. Sun for giving insufficient report on a few weeks ago on 11 custom officers who took part in drug racketeering. The Columnist stated that the Sun only attacked and derogated Chinese, and when it came to white racketeers, it just hid the evidence. The newspaper thought that the Immigrant Cttee ( ) with H.Q. in China and branches in Canada was theprime source of drug racketeering. 7) CKT H.Q. - name list of donors for 1920 annual donation.
