- May 10 P.2 1) Canddian Legion had held a meeting to discuss about the drug problem. They decided to appeal to the federal government to push for a ban on evil drugs. The Ottawa government replied the appeal and stated that serious drug offenders could be deported (except Canadian citizens). A further meeting had been planned and it was hoped that various organizations would send reps, for the meeting so that a white cross association would be wet up to counter-act evil drugs. p. 2 2) (Columnist) newspaper stated that the paper would continue to investigate the defects of the Chinese interpreter in the Immigration Dept. And also the drug issue. There was a rumor that the 2 Chinese interpreters would resign, but the paper would find evidence to show that they were connected with the Immigration Cttee ( ) which organized illegal entry of Chinese immigrants. The paper would like to unite with the Van. Sun to attack the both immigration and drug problems.
