- April 26 P.I 1) An article about discrimination against Chinese. The author hoped that Chinese who sold drugs would repent, thus regaining good reputations for the Chinese community. P.2 2) Exclusion of Chinese immigrants - (continuation of April 25) It was reported that a discussion was hid among , , and an immigration officer , about immigration of E- Asians to B.C. already had ordered theimmigration office in Van. to check on the newcomers. The newspaper ( ) would like to ask the immigration dept. head of Van. if he had allowed 700-1000 Chinese entering Canada between March and April of (1920?). and those Chinese were using false identities as merchants. The interpreter of the dept. head was also accused for taking bribes. P.3 3) The Veteran's Assoc. held a meeting on April 22 trying to exclude E. Asians. They proposed a new regulation prohibiting ships calling on Canadian ports from hiring E. Asians. 4) A famous Chinese merchant was charged with possession of drugs. He was only fined $500. 5) Ladner news: a Chinese was arrested for illegal manufacturing of liquor. 6) Victoria news - Chinese arrested for illegal storage of liquor. Fined $100. 7) Fund raising for famine relief - name list handled by Consul General Yip. P.3 8) Leun Yim Club - the name of 100 contestsants who won the sentence matching competitio 9) CKT H.Q. - name list of donors who donated for 5-ancestor temple. Donations came from Cumberland, Victoria, Duncan,etc. 10) CKT Realty Company - Winnipeg - list of shareholdersn. - P.9 11) Hoysun Assoc. - name list of donors for 2nd school establishment. Total was $213,994.
