- April 8 P.2 1)Labour and Commerce Assoc. in Van., since there was a report that there might be 900 Chinese entering Canada, the association immediately held a discussion and decided to contact an MP names and ask for a report on the number of entries and occupations of Chinese immigrants in 1920. They said that some Chinese entered Canada by borrowing $500 head tax from their relatives or friends in Canada and repaid them by working for 5 years - 10 yrs. free of charge. Moreover most of the so called merchants were only workers or students. 2)CPOS Ship would arrive in Canada. Onboard were 517 passengers Chinese, who were all going to the States of S. America P.3 3) CBA Vic. announced that if Chinese students still did not behave, they would bring a bad reputation to the Chinese community, and in serious cases, they might be requested to le avae the schools. (It was reported that Chinese students were dirty, noisy and were even drawing pictures on the walls.
