- April 6 P.2 1) Fund raising - the Global news in Van. reported that the famine in China was still very severe. Funds were desperately needed. 2) Asian Queen would be arriving in Van. soon, onbaard were 862 passengers, only about 350 would be landing in Canada, others would travel to States. Japanese Queen was also arriving with 500 passengers, out of which 250 would land in Canad. Also on board were large quantities of Chinese silk. 3) A Chinese Has arrested for selling drugs. He was only allowed to be bailed out at C Another Chinese who committed the same crime was allowed to be bailed out at $5000.
