March 29 P.2 1) Chinatown Van. - the city council would discuss beautification of Chinatown many on April 11 because there were reports stating that buildings in Chinatown had to be pulled down or rehabilitated. The Public Health Dept. conducted a tour on Fender St. and suggested that a clean-up campaign was needed. They also criticized that there were too many residents living in small houses.P.3 2) P.3 3) 4) P.10 5) Wong Kong Har long - had celebrated the spring festival on March 27, during which all the Wong clan members gathered. Speeches were made. Fund raising Victoria - some enthusiastic Chinese had already asked the Leun On Opera Company in Van. to put on fund raising performance. The CKT, Dart Coon Club in Van. and Vic. were also asked to perform lion dances on March 27.
