- March 8 P.3 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) Fund raising for famine relief Van.: received donations from Revelstoke, which would be remitted to China. Discrimination v.s. Chinese - housing inspectors had conducted tours around residential Chinatown. The result led to pulling down 2 houses, and rehabilitation of 3. The residents in the above mentioned houses were expropriated. The inspectors asserted that most houses needed to be repainted and washrooms be tidied up. CPOS - liner Czarine was going to China on March 10. All passengers' seats sold. Fund Raising Assoc. Nanaimo news: fund raising agents were sent to various sawmills to raise funds. Total funds raised now were $660. On Feb. 27, a meeting was held whereby they decided that they would follow the policy of the Van. association and remit all donations directly to Shanghai Now they would send $1000 (Chinese $) back first. Fund raising Association - Kelowna news: Feb. 27- a general meeting was held to encourage fund raising. Total donations were $200 and was sent back to China through Van. head fund raising office.
