- March 7 $>. 2 1) CKT Van. - admitted many new members on March 5, there were a few whites, too. P2-3 2) and were 2 merchants from Seattle hoping to bridge better commercial relationship among Chinese and Americans. They had already established a China Commercial Co. in Seattle and were trying to recruit share- holders. The Chinese in Van. and Vic. were quite enthusiastic and many shares were raised. of China thanked the Chinese in New Westminster for sending $600. Fund raising for famine relief: a few restaurants were willing to donate %-day's business income for famine relief. Lui Joy Lun Tong Van. - the association had been established for 3 years and it had already added a building for associational property. It was hoped that the members would give in fees between March 1 and May 1, otherwise $5 would be requested after May or there was a possibility of exempting those members from enjoying the associational priviliges.
