March 2 P.2 1) Peking gov.t had ordered , Ambassador of San Francisco to become the 1st secretary to the London Embassy. His position was to be replaced by Consul General Yip, whose position would be filled by (Chan Wai Shing) 2) Chinese Reform Party - held a spring festival on Jan. 22. Speeches were made and money was raised for famine relief. 3) A Chinese marshall arts leader would be arriving in Van. where he would have a duel with a white man. 4) The Van. fund raising assoc. for drought relief (Van. Chinese famine society) would like all donors to take a photo in order to com- memorate their kindness. 5) Illegal drugs were getting into Canada from amny discrete ways. When ships from the Orient arrived, there would be an outboard thrown into the sea for the outboards to pick them up. When Asian Queen arrived on March 1, the custom officers tried to spy the outboard, but they did not discover anything. 7) Fund raising assoc. for famine relief - name list of donors.
